The Journey Starts Here
When Adventures Abroad first started offering travelers unique, life-changing travel experiences in 1987, few appreciated that it marked the beginning of an exciting journey that would change the face of the company and the small group tour industry forever. One thing our staff did appreciate right from the outset, however, was the fact that without a staunch commitment to adhere to the fundamental values upon which the company was founded, the organization’s very survival would be in question.
The success and subsequent growth of Adventures Abroad since its inception entailed more than just the development of a product as a means to generate profit; it was the evolution of an ideal. Indeed, from the inaugural tour - a 1987 departure to Egypt that company founder and current managing director Chris Boycott himself led - and for several years thereafter, there was precious little profit to speak of at all.
However, neither profit nor marketplace ascendancy was ever the ultimate goal and now, as then, Adventures Abroad operates not under the tenet of corporate gain, but under the conviction that if people could share in our passion for discovering the world, appreciating its diversity and celebrating its splendour, it’d be a better place for all.
A love of travel and the pursuit of a vision are what this company is built on and while innumerable unremarkable travel companies rise and fall on a daily basis, holding true to these ideals is what sets us apart and assures our future prosperity.
At the core of our travel philosophy is the belief that embarking on adventures in foreign lands is about what you’re going towards, not what you’re leaving behind. As such, we are continuously modifying and revamping our itineraries to partake of the full richness of our destinations, continually adapting our formulae based on client feedback and suggestions until we’re completely satisfied that the experience we offer is one we would insist upon for ourselves or our loved ones. Much more than just a typical holiday, each tour we run transcends the bounds of a customary vacation and infuses a little bit of the extraordinary in the lives of our valued clients. We invite you to step into our world to share in our vision; the journey starts here.
