Mila's History
Mila Tours started operating in 1981. Peru was the very first destination. The owner, C. Luis Vasquez, Peruvian, started organizing medical groups taking them to Peru to visit hospitals, meet their peers and presenting seminars. In doing so, professors from the United States were the speakers and the audience traveled to Peru. The meetings were two to three days in duration. Post meetings excursions to Machu Picchu were always organized.
Peru, being a very cultural destination, provided the experience to expand similar programs to other countries in Latin America. Today Mila Tours is the only travel organization with knowledge and experience in the 20 Latin American destinations. The Maya World, the Inca World, Galapagos, Patagonia are the leading destinations for Mila Tours.
The Hemingway family appointed Mila Tours as the exclusive organization to operate the Hemingway Travel Destinations, which includes China, Spain, France, Italy, Tanzania, Africa, and Cuba - all Hemingway's favorite cultural destinations!
